Webpage Screenshot Pro
Privacy Policy
Effective October 8, 2026
What the extension does with web pages
When you ask it to, Webpage Screenshot Pro reads the page in your current tab and turns it into a PDF, JPEG or PNG file. All of this happens inside your browser, on your computer. The file is saved to your Downloads folder, or copied to your clipboard if you choose Copy. The extension has no servers and makes no network requests of its own: it does not upload pages, screenshots, addresses or anything else.
To make files smaller, it can re-encode the images a page has already loaded. It takes them from what your browser already downloaded for that page; it does not download them again or send them anywhere.
What it stores, and where
- Your settings (format, layout, compression, save folder and so on) are kept with Chrome's extension storage. If you use Chrome Sync, Chrome syncs them to your other computers through your Google account, like any extension's settings.
- Debug logs are kept only on your computer (the last 500 entries). They always record errors and when captures start and finish, with only the website's domain (for example example.com), not the full address. If you turn on Debug logging, they also record each step and the full page address. You can view, download or clear them at any time from the extension's menu.
- Captured files are saved where you tell Chrome to save downloads. The extension doesn't keep copies.
Sharing logs with the developer
Logs are only shared if you choose Submit logs. That saves a report file to your Downloads folder (the extension's version, your browser version, your settings and the logs) and opens an email addressed to the developer in your own email program. Nothing is sent unless you attach the file and send the email yourself, and you can read the file first.
Permissions, and why they're needed
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| debugger | Having Chrome render the page as a PDF or a full-page image, and reading the images the page already loaded so they can be compressed. Chrome shows a "started debugging this browser" bar while it's in use. |
| activeTab, scripting | Preparing the tab you chose (loading lazy images, hiding chat bubbles, showing the progress card) when you click the button, use the right-click menu or press the shortcut. Only that tab, only then. |
| downloads | Saving the finished file to your Downloads folder. |
| storage | Remembering your settings and keeping the local debug log. |
| contextMenus | The right-click menu items. |
| offscreen | Handing large finished files to Chrome's downloader efficiently. |
| Read all sites (optional) | Asked for only if you use Save all tabs, so the extension can save tabs other than the one you clicked on. You can remove it at any time in Chrome's extension settings. |
What it never does
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or third-party code.
- No selling or transferring of data, and no use of data for anything other than making your captures.
- No access to pages you haven't asked it to capture.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
